Meet the Fleet
MS Lofoten - This old favourite voyages around the Svalbard Archipelago during the summer and the Coastal Voyage during the winter. She was built in 1964 and recently refurbished in 2004. What sets her aside is she has been named a listed vessel by the Norwegian Director General of Historic Monuments.
MS Kong Harald - Her namesake is the King of Norway but she also includes other famous Norwegians in her tributes and boasts the Nansen Club Bar and Amundsen Cafe. Distinctive artwork is displayed throughout the ship by local artists, making her an individual in the fleet.
MS Nordlys - Meaning ‘Northern Lights' in English, MS Nordlys is inspired by the Northern Lights and her decor reflects this. Wood and brass fittings have been used to create an atmosphere which is both elegant and relaxed.
MS Nordkapp - Named after the famous North Cape, varied and exciting themes of coastal culture are illustrated throughout this ship. The floating art gallery complements the changing scenery around you. Enjoy this from one of the two outside Jacuzzis or the panorama lounges and restaurant.
MS Nordnorge - Her name is take from the most northerly point of Norway, with her decor designed by artists from this region. Style is balanced with modern facilities, influenced by Art Deco and Art Nouveau. A light and airy atmosphere awaits you in true Hurtigruten style.
MS Richard With - Bearing the name of Hurtigruten's founder, the ship is true to tradition and intimate acquaintance with the coast she sails. 2005 saw two outside Jacuzzis installed, allowing you to take in the views in style.
MS Polaryls - Comfortable bars, restaurants and cafes complement the brass and wood sculptures, carvings and contemporary art found on this ship. The views are unrivalled from every angle.
MS Nordstjernen - Built in 1956, she is a traditional working ship and another favourite of regular Hurtigruten cruisers. She is used on the Svalbard Archipelago alongside MS Lofoten.
MS Midnatsol - Her maiden voyage in 2003 was fairly recent in comparison to others in the fleet, but she has become a firm favourite. Her sister ship MS Trollfjord has similar capacity and facilities, with large panorama lounges, bars and cafes. The light rooms make it the perfect place to view the scenery, or for the more young at heart, a fitness room and two Jacuzzis are featured on the Sun Deck.
MS Trollfjord - She bears the name of one of the most dramatic sights on the voyage. Inside, design was influenced by the coast and wide windows give you the best views available. She features cafes and bars and a conference area, plus a Jacuzzi and exercise room equipped to a high spec. She also features the latest technology to ensure a quiet cruise with no vibration from the engine.
MS Vesteralen - Named after the first coastal ship, this modern counterpart is characteristic, bright and cheerful, featuring artwork by local artists linked to the Norwegian landscape.
